The name “Tlou” was derived from a huge animal representing the Ndebele tribe. Since the founder (Mr SL kekana) was one of the Ndebele clan and optimistic that like Tlou, the company will provide extensive services to its clients. He came to conclusion that Tlou Integrated Tech will be adequate name for the company. Mr. Kekana was attending his tertiary studies at Technikon. Tlou Integrated Tech cc is a company providing civil engineering consulting, project management and waste management services. As emerging company it has offices in Pretoria (Gauteng) and Polokwane (Limpopo).
The idea of forming this company was conceived by its founder while he was furthering his studies at Technikon Pretoria. Mismanagement, low quality of work resulting to the unsatisfactory of the clients and inadequate professionalism of some civil engineering and construction firms, were some of the main reasons that pursued Mr. Kekana to start the firm. The professional approach he has adopted since inception has borne fruits in 2002, the company underwent metamorphic growth to vigorously encompassing all construction work, project management, industrial building, houses, offices, civil engineering work etc.
The Member of Tlou Integrated Tech has registered with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and Tlou Integrated Tech is the member of the following professional bodies:
- Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA)
- National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC)
It is also in the process to register with the following organization or institution:
- South African Institute of Civil Engineering SAICE
Due to the acute shortage of Engineers, Technicians, Quantity Surveyors and Artisans, Tlou Integrated Tech is in the process of issuing bursaries to the exceptional individual in the latter courses. On graduating, bursary holders will be required to work for Tlou Integrated Tech where they will receive further training. Our social responsibility also includes financial in-kind contribution to previously disadvantage communities.
